Manufacturing process and characteristic of both quartz materials are different. Fused quartz is made from natural crystal by melting at high temperature and cooling quickly. Synthetic quartz is made from silicon tetrachloride with chemical reaction. Fused quartz is classified into oxyhydrogen meting quartz and electric melting quartz depending on the heating source. Content of OH-group is also different.

Each glass material has advantages and disadvantages. It is difficult to determine the pros and cons. Price for quartz glass is slightly higher than borosilicate glass, but its heat-resistant temperature is 900 deg. C, and has better heat-resistant properties. On the other hand, borosilicate glass is slightly less expensive, and its heat-resistant temperature is 450 deg C. It's relatively soft and easy to process. So, we propose to choose the glass material based on the priority of the specifications.
